Happy Easter

We got up Easter morning so we could have our first family Easter Egg Hunt. We discovered Evan likes to get "monies" (smart kid, huh?) in his Easter eggs while we were at Grandma and Grandpa McCain's the week before. So we put money in many of them and jelly beans in the rest (yes, that's all he got!). He has a train bank that was a gift from Grandma McKee at his baby shower. We just recently started showing him what it was for and better yet...what it does! So, of course, every SINGLE coin he got was put in the bank one at a time so he could hear the full version of "I've been workin' on the railroad".

It was still before breakfast so I was trying to keep the suger monster at bay for at least a few hours by snatching up the jelly beans before he could eat them ALL! It became quite a contest, let me tell you.
Easter morning after church Grandma and Grandpa Barton came by to visit before dinner. You won't actually see Evan or Tyler in any of these photos because when they are together there is no sitting still! The adorable baby bunny was able to freeze Miss Nick for a minute (but that's it)!

Then (after a much needed nap) we were off to Grandma Glass' house for dinner and to visit with the rest of the family! The kids were so cute with Connor we couldn't resist taking a few photos (even though by the time we actually got them all in one place NO ONE was particularly happy about it)! Oh, yeah...Caitlin was alternately kissing/hugging and pushing Connor away!

Before we left Kerry was sure to torture Evan a little - just in time for my "I had hoped for a nice quiet ride home -- instead I get two screaming kids for 20 minutes" drive.

Evan's Diversions

Evan is such a little joker. He really seeme to understand what is funny and how to get us to laugh.

Danny CANNOT sit still and talk on the phone, he paces and paces and paces...so, for fun I've been sending Evan in with a play phone when Danny is talking. I tell him "do what Daddy's doing".

He does it perfectly and Danny can't concentrate on his conversation. And he KNOWS how funny it is! He will snicker or pretend he's laughing so hard he can't stand up...

What a little monkey! Speaking of Monkeys...meet Lamar. He's our newest 'baby' and is treated very well!

Caitlin's New Do and a little craziness!

As it turns out, Caitlin really is the crazy, loud one! This is a typical evening at dinner. She's taken over the entertainment portion of the evening!

Don't let those cheerios run out...

We're trying out some new looks for Caitie now that her hair is getting longer...I just DON'T know what to do with it!

1000 Gifts

It's amazing how something can exist for so many people and NOT exist for so many others!

Blogging is that way...I had no idea what I didn't know :) of course.

Since we've started our blogs I've become hooked on finding interesting and inspirational blogs to read for enjoyment (rather than great deals!). Once such blog has inspired me to create my list of a thousand gifts; gifts that I have every day and have failed to be thankful for.

Join me if you can...I'll add my new ones every day!

1. A morning spent playing, talking and laughing with our friends
2. Sharing a PB muffin with Evan

Back on the Horse!

Here are some photos of Evan and Caitie from last week! Evan is obsessed with pouring water and playing in the sink and in the last four he's taking care of his monkey...taking his temperature and changing diapers!

We are all finally well!! Thank goodness!

It's been exhausting just trying to get the kiddos back on schedule. Caitlin is at a perfect age now to dislike nap time many days (even though she is tired and grouchy!). We have been going around in circles this afternoon. She'll lie there for 20 mins or so and then get mad and eventually I go up to calm her down a bit (mostly so she doesn't wake up Evan). I have to remember now to start teaching her that she needs to nap at nap time and Mommy's not going to pick her up and cuddle with her all afternoon, etc. - I have to keep reminding myself, too!). Hard to believe she'll be 9 months old next week!
It's funny to see a 2 year old mind in action...Evan has all sorts of small irrational fears. He doesn't like to get his haircut all of a sudden (after doing it every 6 weeks for the past year!), he's a little afraid of the dark (so we have to leave the door open a bit at night), he scares himself into thinking the lion or tiger on the wall in Caitlin's room is chasing him and comes running and half crying down the hall to me (then laughs and says if he's caught he'll get a BIG HUG)!! He's a funny kid!
