This week's happenings...

It's only Tuesday but I already feel behind! I've had to make lots of phone calls the past two days and that always makes me feel blech!

Caitlin is teething (as usual!), she has 4 more teeth coming in and has started biting everything...me included (and while we're nursing)! She is trying to talk and really likes to read books now. She's sleeping in a twin bed at night and loves it! Still in the pack & play for naps though :)

She understands everything we say to her and spends a lot of time doing what big brother does!

Evan has been such a good boy! He's over the hump from the move and has really started growing up all of the sudden! He's so polite and has a very active imagination. We started a sticker chart and he's been doing fantastic with it! Now we just need to work on getting rid of that binky! Hopefully in the next 5 weeks.

We are hoping to take him on a special weekend train trip for his birthday if we can decide where to go that is kid friendly and not too expensive.

We went to our new favorite dog park again today. Cosmo dog park named after a very loyal and brave Shepard that was part of the Gilbert AZ K9 police force.

Savana doesn't get in the water very often but when it's 104 degrees out I guess she'll make an exception. Grady on the other hand would get in the water just before the point of freezing.

This is a neat beautiful park. You can't really see it in the pictures but the entire place is covered in dog prints. Like the playground equipment each sit in a different pad.

What's Up for the Weekend?

Nothing spectacular...the kids and I are going to the library today. Then maybe to lunch with Dad at the airport?!?

Tomorrow Danny is going on a bike ride (early again!) and we'll take the dogs to the dog park (and the kids to the playground) for playtime and lunch.

Sunday, is church (our new church is Christ's Greenfield in Gilbert) and Tropical Smoothie Cafe - the best smoothie place in the world!

The Weather in Arizona is...

hot :) but also uncertain (for us anyway)!

Last night we went riding along the canal to Danny's work! It was my first ride and little did I know the treat I was in for!

We've discovered the rain here is unpredictable! Sometimes, it looks very ominous right OVER our house, lightening and thunder, but nothing ever happens.

So, last night, we didn't really worry about it when we left and it was pretty dark off to the East. We biked to Danny's office (about 2.25 miles) and when we looked around at that point, we realized we might be in trouble!

It got very windy very quickly, which is one thing different about Arizona...if it's windy, there's a storm of some sort! We hightailed it back toward the house riding into gusting winds that made it feel like someone was pushing the bike backwards, not to mention all of the dust flying right in our faces!

We made it back about 15 min before the rain started! No time for photos...

Messy Caitlin strikes again!

The other night during dinner, Caitlin decided she was done eating her food and it was time to use it as a deep tissue scrub and hair treatment! Already concerned with her looks!

And yes, that's all food in her hair - I did not wipe her off before taking the picture this time~

Cosmo Dog Park

We found the most amazing dog park here (not too far from our house) where grady can SWIM!

I think he thought he was in doggy heaven! Evan and Savana had a good time, too Mostly people/dog-watching :)...

Danny's Trip Up Camelback!

This is Danny speaking now even though I'm not into the whole "blogging thing". I changed my text color so that you will know that it is me speaking. Anyway.

Last Saturday, Danny got up before the sun (that doesn't happen very often!) (isn't she funny, Ha Ha) to go on a hike with Bill (his co-worker) up Camelback in Scottsdale (north of Phoenix).

This is NOT a hike we would take the family on. It's a bit of a climb and there are times that it's a little treacherous. She is correct, at least to not take our kids at their age up it. Maybe in a few years. There were several times when you are scrambling up a rock ridge and death is taunting you on both sides. But if that doesn't sound like fun to you then you don't know what fun is.

Since he's not into the whole "blogging thing" I'm posting these photos for him. We'll see if I can talk him into writing a little bit about it then. Just a little bit.

This is a mountain just to the north of Camelback but I don't know what the name of it is. If you click on the pictures you can see some of the enormous houses around the area.

This is aiming down the north side.

This (photo above) is facing southeast towards the San Tan Moutains and our house. If you look real hard you can see our house but you really have to want to see it.

This (photo above) is facing southwest towards downtown Phoenix from the summit. Elevation at the summit of Camelback is 2704 feet. It is beautiful and breezy.
